Here is another feature we are excited to share with you guys and it’s one of the cars that I have a real soft spot for and wish I owned one many years ago. This is Alex’s beautiful GC8 which he has owned for a few years now and it was about time we had this on Street Cover, this was shot sometime last year by Kevin Phetrasi and it has just resurfaced. Partly my fault again of course but like I always say, better late than never.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Just your average addict enthusiast.

How did you come across the GC8 and what made you want to get it?

It may have been partially due to Initial D, also we already had a GC8 STI at home. Before owning my WRX, time to time I drove the STI and liked the raw feeling.

So what have you done so far with the car?

Visually, the car has changed so many times as I keep breaking it. About a year ago was when I decided to go from static to bags as it became incredibly hard to daily plus getting in and out of my driveway was a mission and half. Currently, the car is on airlift struts managed via Accuair management and is sitting on a set of Volks 3 piece wheels, with a minor bolt-on in the engine compartment and a handful of suspension parts. With how it is now, I can still take it to twisties. But in the photos you see now I have my RPF1’s on for the shoot which just looks as good.

What has been the hardest thing on your car that you worked on, and what did you do to fix it?

The hardest thing was finding rare parts and the right parts that I’ve been searching for ages. Also finalising wheel and tyre combo to fit under the stock guards (uncut guards).

What motivates you to keep modifying?

Really, it comes down to self-motivation. Family and friends play a part as most of the time we talk about related topics and share ideas.

Do you have plans to keep working on your car?

If so what will you be working on?

Next thing is building a motor with a decent amount of power which still lets me daily this thing.

What would be your next car to modify?

The next car I would love to build is a my15 STI or r32.

Any advice to people that want to follow in your foot steps?

Whatever you do there will always be haters so don’t be demoralised by those who judge you for what you chose to do. Do what you want to do as long as you enjoy it.

What would be your advice to people wanting to get into the car scene?

My advice to people getting into the car scene would be, just do what you want to do. If you’ve got an idea, just go for it. If you’ve got questions, don’t be afraid to ask.

Lets get some people following you, what is your Instagram?

My Instagram is mr_poppi

Do you want to thank anyone?

Thank you to my family and close friends. Always motivating, sharing great laughs and great ideas.
